Laser Frosting
Laser frosting is commonly used on metals and results in a bright white mark.
- Marks created with laser frosting require minimal surface penetration
- Frosting can be combined with other techniques to create high-contrast results
The Details
Laser frosting creates a bright white mark on various metals and carbide with minimal surface penetration. By moving the laser at a high rate of scan speed, a very light surface disruption is created, resulting in the bright white contrast. Frosting works especially well on aluminum, steel, stainless steel, and carbide. Frosting can also be combined with annealed or burned marks to create a high-contrast white background with dark marks over the top.

The Absolute Best Customer Service Around
I’ve learned how awesome laser marking is! The new station for laser marking is creating a lot of buzz around our shop floor and in our offices and we are very happy with the performance of the EMS400. Everyone can’t believe how fast it is.
I have been nothing but pleased with the entire process and relationship I have had with TYKMA Electrox. I bought a Minilase a couple years ago and everything went off without a hitch.
The TYKMA Electrox Minilase 20W fiber laser has been a great asset for us. We were able to quickly migrate our production from older laser technology to the Minilase. It produces a higher-quality mark in less time.
